Becoming Chavela on OutSpoken

with Joy Silver

September 2022

It was such a pleasure for my director Joyce Callo and I to be interviewed about Chavela Vargas by Joy Silver for her podcast, "OutSpoken." She asked very insightful questions about our short film and my cabaret show, "Becoming Chavela." I am gratified that she recognizes Chavela Vargas' importance and value as a role model. Chavela is a hero for women who strive to achieve their dreams and I gladly stand on her shoulders - a giant figure in herstory.
